The paper goes.Everythingon it stays.
Digital decluttering for homes and businesses. Filing cabinets, boxes of records and family photographs turned into named folders you can actually search. Scanned at your table, or collected and returned, whichever suits you. The closet gets its space back and you keep every word and every face.
The paper does not have to stay in the house for you to keep what is on it. Once a document or a photograph is scanned, named and backed up, the original becomes a choice rather than an obligation. Most people keep the photographs and the certificates, and finally let go of twenty years of statements and manuals.
The result is fewer boxes in the closet, a filing cabinet you can empty, and the one page you need findable in seconds instead of an afternoon. When you are ready to let the paper go, I can arrange secure shredding through an insured, NAID certified local partner, with a certificate of destruction.
Boxes out, files in
Most people are not short of storage, they are short of patience. The paper is kept because of what is on it, not because anyone wants the box. Once it is scanned, named and backed up, the box becomes a choice.
Nothing is shipped
No packing, no tracking numbers, no waiting to find out if the box arrived. Everything happens on your table while you watch.
Never out of your sight
Tax returns, medical records, deeds and photographs all stay in the room. Nothing sensitive is handled by people you have not met.
You sit with me
Tell me what a folder is and how you want it filed, or who is in a photo, and it goes straight into the name. That is not something you can do by mail.
Proper equipment
A commercial document scanner with a feeder for paper, and careful handling for anything fragile or in an album.
Off site if you prefer
Some people would rather clear the table and have it done elsewhere. I can collect the boxes, work through them at my own desk and bring everything back, originals included. Just ask when you book.
Confidentiality in writing
Happy to sign an NDA or a confidentiality agreement before I see anything. I can provide one, or use yours. Standard for medical, legal and financial records.
Shredding, if you want it
Once everything is scanned and you have checked it, I can arrange secure destruction through a local shredding partner who is insured and NAID certified. You get a certificate of destruction for your records.
Downsizing and moving
Moving into a 55+ or senior living community usually means far less storage. Photographs, letters and records scanned before the move, so the memories come with you and the boxes do not. I work with communities directly as well as with families.
Documents and printed photographs, equally
Household paperwork
Tax returns, deeds, titles, insurance policies, warranties, medical records, statements and the drawer of letters nobody wants to throw out.
Searchable documents
Paperwork is turned into searchable files, so you can type a name or a year and find the one page you need.
Family photographs
Loose prints, drugstore packets and photos in albums, from wallet size to portraits, handled by hand where they need it.
Not slides or film
I do not scan slides, negatives or movie film. If that is what you have, I will point you to someone who does.
Four steps, and a price before I start
Show me the pile
Send me a couple of photos of the boxes from your phone, or I stop by for ten minutes. Either way I see what is actually there.
You get a fixed price
A single number for the whole job, agreed before anything begins. It does not change unless you add to the pile.
You choose where
At your table, or I collect the boxes and work at my own desk and bring everything back. Same price either way. Most jobs are one visit.
You get the files and a walkthrough
Folders on your computer, a copy on a drive, and a backup if you want one. Then I show you how to find and share them.
Priced by how much you have
No hourly clock. You pay per page and per photograph, the rate drops as the pile gets bigger, and the trip charge is included. Move the sliders for an estimate, then I confirm the exact figure when I see it.
Not sure how many you have? A standard banker's box holds roughly 2,500 pages, and a full shoebox holds about 1,000 prints. Get it close and I will confirm the exact number when I see it.
About half a day on site. Trip charge included.
Pages a day is what the scanner handles comfortably on site, so even a hundred thousand page archive is a matter of days rather than months. Photographs run slower because they need more care.
Most people want the finished files on an external drive they can put in a drawer, as well as on the computer.
Use your own. If you already have an external drive, get it out and I will put everything on it at no extra charge.
Or I bring one. If you would rather not go shopping, I supply a new drive at cost plus a small handling fee, and I tell you the exact price before I buy it. The drive is yours to keep.
Somewhere past a few thousand loose prints, a mail in service will cost you less than I will, and I would rather say so than take the job quietly. What you give up is control: the box leaves your house, it takes weeks, and nobody sits with you while it happens. Plenty of people decide that trade is not worth it, which is exactly why I do this. Either way, I will tell you honestly which way I would go.
The things people ask first
Will you damage my photographs or papers?
No. Loose prints go through carefully and anything fragile, curled or stuck in an album is handled by hand rather than through the feeder. If a photo cannot be scanned safely, I stop and show you rather than risk it.
What do I actually get at the end?
Folders on your computer, organised the way we agreed, plus the same set on an external drive. If you want them backed up online as well, I set that up and show you how to reach them from a phone.
Do you have to take anything away?
Not unless you want me to. The normal way is everything done in your home with the originals back in their box before I leave. If you would rather I took the boxes away and worked on them elsewhere, I can do that too, with a written record of what I collected.
How long does a box take?
A photo box is usually half a day and a document box a little less. If it is going to run longer, I tell you before we start, not afterwards.
Can you help me sort them as well?
Yes, and it goes much better when you are sitting there. You tell me who is in the picture and roughly when, and it goes into the file name and folder.
What about the paper afterwards?
Your originals go back in their box by default, and plenty of people keep them. If you would rather they were destroyed, I can arrange it through a local shredding partner who is insured and NAID certified, which is the industry standard for secure destruction. You get a certificate of destruction afterwards. Nothing is shredded until you have seen the scans and told me you are happy.
Can you take the boxes away instead?
Yes. If you would rather not have someone working at your table for a few hours, I collect the boxes, write down exactly what I have taken so you have a record, scan everything at my own desk and return the originals in the same order. Most people choose the in home option because nothing leaves the building, but the choice is yours and the price is the same either way.
Will you sign a confidentiality agreement?
Yes, and I will offer one before you ask. I can provide a straightforward NDA, or sign whatever your business already uses. Worth doing for medical records, client files, legal paperwork and anything with account numbers in it. Nothing is stored on my machine after the job is finished unless you ask me to keep a copy.
Send me a picture of the boxes
That is genuinely all I need to give you a price. On site across Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Richardson, Carrollton, Prosper and greater Dallas.
